Over £35,000 was raised on 8 January by 4 Peace of Mind for the
South Asia Earthquake at a charity dinner and auction. Over 350
guests
attended the event at the Renaissance Hotel, London Heathrow.
4 Peace of Mind is a not-for-profit,
voluntary organisation whose mission is to raise and deliver
humanitarian aid in the form of medical
expertise and pharmaceuticals to the worst hit communities affected
by natural disasters ~ anywhere in the world.
The event featured first-hand accounts
of the impact of the earthquake from Drs Shakeel Qureshi, Syed
Saboor and Mr Shamim Khan, who
visited the disaster zone soon after 8 October last year. Their
presentations inspired the audience to generously participate in the
charity
auction, which was conducted by Mr Ajmal Masroor. Guests included Mr
Abdul Basit (Pakistan Deputy High Commissioner to London),
Mr Waseem Yaqub (Islamic Relief UK Manager), Mr Ravi Sharma and Ms
Sarita Sabharwal (Sunrise Radio), Mr T Memon (ARY)
and Mr Zafar Khan.
This was the inaugural event to
introduce 4 Peace of Mind an organisation providing
leadership for medical and pharmaceutical professionals
in the UK who wish to volunteer their expertise to help the most
vulnerable communities affected by natural disasters.
The chairman of
4 Peace of mind
stated "The response today has been outstanding. The audience
connected with our mission and could
see how the combination of medical and pharmaceutical expertise can
make a difference to the communities affected by natural disasters.
Many guests were inspired to offer their expertise. This is the seal of approval for 4 Peace of
Mind"
